Billy sings a wonderful song

I love this song and he (my husband) does a beautiful job. This song nearly always makes me cry. I am so happy I found Jesus.

Calvary's The Reason Why

This will take you to the site where I store my songs, so you might want to listen to this by opening it in a new window. Just right click on the name of the song, open in new window and shrink it to the bottom. It will start to play automatically.

My heart exchange

I belong to a group on yahoo, "Chain of Hearts"..we exchange fabric hearts, decorated in any way we like,,people use them for various types of crafts or even make quilts from the less decorated ones. This one was sent to me by Rosemary in Tasmania..I'll admit, I had to go look that one up on the map...unlike MS South Carolina believes however,,,people in the United States do have maps....LOL....
I love the colors and the little cat peeking out is just perfect...I have three cats and that was a little something she knew would please me,,,I love the butterflies and flowers too..Her stitching is wonderful on this.

My favorite songs

I am a Christian and I love the Gaither videos. If you do too, don't forget to click on the link at the bottom of the page, then you can listen while you read.

I was saddened to learn that Dottie Rambo, the gospel legend and gifted writer went home to be with Our Lord on May 11, 2008 when her tour bus crashed into a roadside embankment in Missouri. She has always been my favorite songwriter and I will miss her.
I remember hearing her say that each song came from a journey she had to go through. She lived each word of her songs and she connected with others who understood. Walking with Jesus is not always easy but writers like Dottie Rambo, helped to make the journey a little bit easier.
There is a song titled “Come Spring” in which she sings of going to be with Jesus in Spring, and she did. The Gaithers did a lot of her songs...Here is a link to a beautiful song by Dottie.."Tears Will Never Stain the Streets of That City"..

I just know when they are all in bloom,,i have a long row of them, serving as a backdrop to the garden,,,they are going to be awesome. I am not much of a photographer but when something looks like this, you don't have to be. This one is not fully opened yet, but I thought it was so pretty. When the whole row blooms, I will post a picture.

Blue Morning Glories

I love this look of Blue Morning Glories climbing up a white trellis. These are just getting started up the frame,,,the color is so much more vibrant but I think the Sun was just to bright to capture the deep blue of these..it is called Heavenly Blue.

Just a sample of things coming out now

LOL...since I was sensible this time, we are getting just the right amount for us plus just a little for the freezer,,,beans, yellow squash and peppers and my main thing I am freezing. And of course tomatoes,. The English peas are pretty much gone now, except for a few for stir fry or salads,,I am going to pull the vines up as soon as I get some pepper plants to put in their place. They were really good while they lasted but since I only planted eight plants,,,didn't expect many. We had a few meals off them,,so they were worth the space.
My watermelon plants have little baby watermelons already and so do the cantaloupes...I planted "Bush Baby" watermelons since there is only the two of us, I didn't want big melons,,this is are just about right for two people to really pig out.. LOL

I also noticed we have a few blooms on our Gardenia bush...it doesn't seem to have as many leaves as it did,,,,not sure what caused that.

My herbs

I am growing herbs on my back porch in one of those sneeze guard stands they use for salads in a fast food place...It works pretty good. I added some potting mix and some organic fertilizer..It has a drain hole which prevents over watering. I have basil, arugula, regular thyme and lemon thyme, dill, parsley, lemon balm, chives and mint and pineapple sage, for regular sage, and rosemary on the other side of my house.

I love drying them, and having a fresh herbs right at your fingertips...I like sliced tomatoes with a little fresh chopped basil and olive oil in top...And of course, Parsley, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme for dressings and stuffing. Rosemary also goes great with chicken.
I also have some lavender which I grew so I can make some lavender wands. I will put a pic of one of them on, so you can see what they look like...

I think I may have planted more than we need but they freeze well...

I made this little bag from felt which I embroidered but you can use a pot holder to make it...Just fold it two sides in to make a triangle and sew it together,,,Pull the other piece down to form a flap and add a snap or piece of Velcro to hold it shut..I added a yarn handle and a tassel at the bottom...This is quick and fun to make. You can change it up in so many ways...

Strawberry plants

I love these plants, even if they didn't give you such delicious berries, they would still be worth growing...Here is a great way to use strawberries.

.
9 MINUTE FRESH STRAWBERRY PIE

4 cups halved strawberries
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons water
1/2 cup corn syrup
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 cup heavy cream
baked pie crust

In blender, process 1 cup fruit at high speed, for 30 seconds.
In a 2-quart saucepan, stir together cornstarch and water until smooth.

Add mashed fruit, corn syrup, and lemon juice.

Stirring constantly, bring to boil over medium heat and boil one minute.

Turn into bowl, cover surface with waxed paper to prevent a skin from forming.

Cool one hour. Fold in remaining fruit.

Spread cream on bottom and up sides of pie crust.

Fill with fruit mixture and level.

Chill 3 hours or until set.

*You can use peaches or blueberries or even blackberries but of course nothing beats fresh strawberries.

Lantana flowers,,,I love them

I had my DH build me a 4 by 8 raised flower bed for my Lantana...I love it,,,it comes in so many colors and is just about trouble free. Of course it doesn't have a pretty smell but in the landscape,,It is fine....

The only problem,,when I went outside to plant my flowers,,,I ran into fire ants around the box,,I need to get some fire ant poison and get rid of them first..I don't like to use any poison around my garden but,,when it comes to fire ants, I will. Those things cause blisters..and can really hurt.

Sunflower seeds are an excellent source of vitamin E, the body's primary fat-soluble antioxidant.

First of the Harvest

Originally uploaded by dreamdress2

Little tomatoes, little squash, just about ready...Picked two nice cukes and some green onions this morning. The radishes are a little small but I needed to thin them anyway..I need to thin out the mustard so may try some of those in our salad tomorrow..

I am going to make cucumber salad. I Slice up the cucumbers with red onions and tomatoes and marinate in seasoned oil and vinegar. You can add a little sugar if you like. I usually add equal amounts sugar and vinegar and olive oil...Soooo good, especially if you are eating fresh from your garden.
