CASHMERE BOUQUET
They say this flower was the inspiration for the first mass produced soap, put out by the Colgate Company. It does have a pretty smell but they may have been more inspired by the flower than the fragrance. The soap is still available today but the picture looks more like a rose. Down through the years they changed it and used other flowers in thier ads.
I love this but I've been told it can become a pest. We planted some of it in an old fiberglass bathtub to contain it but we couldn't resist putting one in this old plastic light globe. These globes were used to cover those big outside lights at our Coliseum. Billy asked me if I wanted one and then he brought home fifty! He works in contruction so people are always giving him things.
I think it makes a good pot for this plant. I put a hole for drainage in the bottom but the top already had a hole large enough to plant in. I like the way it looks. Anyone know what I can do with the other forty nine? LOL

Wow you have got a lot of pots now!!!!...You can pot up starts of the cashmere bouquet in each one and sell them(-: I have that stuff everywhere. It is a pest for me and I think it smells horrid. Its pretty though so I just leave it alone. And it blooms all summer even when its 110 out.
I have not seen the Cashmere Bouquet soap in years! That is what my grandmother used and the smell would bring back memories! Where can you find the soap?
What a great idea to recycle the globes! Maybe try to get rid of the extra’s through Freecycle...
Cindee that is a great idea and Lord knows with gas so high, a little money coming in would be nice.
skeeter, I belong to recycle in my area. I don't know why I didn't think of them. I'll bet someone would like a few of these.
You can still buy the soap from The Vermont Country Store and other places like that. They also had a Cashmere Bouquet body powder and perfume.
That is pretty cool. You might use them to edge a garden or driveway. Being in construction is great to get lots of free stuff do it yourselfers can use.
Eve, Are you on Blotanical? I searched for you. Also, on my blog roll your link will NOT work. It is telling me there are illegal characters in it.
Hi Eve, I remember the soap, but can't tell what the plant is. What is the botanical name? I just added you to my sidebar and the link worked, so Tina may want to redo hers. I would love to have a globe like that, and with a cool story behind it too. A row of them would look good.

Eve,
We all love a plant that is beautiful and trouble sometime! I haven't any ideas about what to do with the globes! I like that in a husband.."yes dear I would like one," and you get 50!
Gail
Eve,
That plant is beautiful! I don't think I have ever seen it before, really pretty.
I think you should sell your globes on e-bay as nifty flower pots.
frances, the botanical name is Clerodendrum bungei
Interesting post.. I like the way you are thinking about bouquet.
Eve, I enjoyed visiting your lovely blog. Your use of the light globes for flower pots is right down my alley as I often use all sorts of "found objects" in the same way to grow plants in. Thanks for dropping by my blog Mississippi Garden and leaving a comment. Best regards,
Jon in Vicksburg, Mississippi on 7-13-08
Eve-Thank you for your sweet compliment. I don't usually get comments so I don't check and was pleasently surprised to see your kind words. I'm a single mom with two little ones. I have to do my projects to make income and for therapy. My kids are great little helpers and budding builders/painters. I love your blogs-want to check them out more. love, katie(dillydallygirl)
eve.. this is a very pretty flower! actually much prettier than the one on my blog... in fact your cashmere bouquet makes my poor plant look downright *weed-y* lol...
what an absolutely wonderful blog you have here! i am a hpelessly inadequate gardener, but i dearly love to look at others' work and creativity in this area:)

Hi there!
I would like to burn a theme at here. There is such a nicey, called HYIP, or High Yield Investment Program. It reminds of ponzy-like structure, but in rare cases one may happen to meet a company that really pays up to 2% daily not on invested money, but from real profits.
For several years , I make money with the help of these programs.
I don't have problems with money now, but there are heights that must be conquered . I get now up to 2G a day , and my first investment was 500 dollars only.
Right now, I'm very close at catching at last a guaranteed variant to make a sharp rise . Turn to my blog to get additional info.
