I want a Basketball Plant, a weird but strangely beautiful succulent.....I've only seen these plants for order online. I've never come across them in person before at my local nurseries. It is on the expensive side at $35 a whack, but I bet your next door neighbor won't have one. LOL. It looks more like a pincushion to me than a basketball but I can see where they get that. I like the little rows of brass colored beads. And the colors look like vintage fabric. Yes, I can see this in a pincushion.

Oh I want one too!! Those look so cool!!! I have never seen one before or heard of one. 35 is pricey but if it is something you want then it's o.k. (-: Did you try ebay? They might have one cheaper. Although probably so small it would look like a marble instead of a basketball. (-:

I have two of them! They are also called Plaid Cactus. They aren't cactus, but are a succulent, Euphorbia obesum. I'm surprised they would cost so much. If they are the size you pictured, then perhaps $15. Or, at least that's what they go for here.

I just purchased one @ Lowes for 3.99...what a steal and it was the last one! I fully intend to keep in in the greenhouse this winter which stays at 60 degrees. Give Lowes a look-see where you all live.

Thanks Faye. I never thought to check Lowes. I forget they have plants. I did check Walmart, Kmart and Home Depot and our local nurseries. Maybe I will get lucky.
I also bought one at Lowe's for about $4! It was the last one, and after reading all these comments about how expensive and hard to find they are, I'm so glad I snatched it right up!
